Please take the time to read the letter from URC Treasurer Ian Hardie and Deputy Treasurer John Piper. Linked here.
Locally your church has suffered a substantial loss of income from lettings following the period of lockdown and even as we allow some activities to resume we will not be able to make up the losses or indeed restore our income to previous levels. You have however continued with a high level of giving most notably making use of Standing Orders and cheques so that although our offerings are lower than last year the drop is less significant.
Many people have suffered a loss of income and although fixed incomes have been fairly stable they may not be at a high level. All I ask is that you review your current level of giving and see if you are able to meet the challenge from General Assembly which encourages URC members to give 5% of their after-tax income to the Church, and a further 5% to other charitable causes.
