You may recall your committee agreed we would decide in September to examine the possibility of starting meetings of the Literary Society in January 2021 to cover the three months to March 2021. Several ideas have been discussed by the committee. However its is with regret that the majority off the committee have agreed to cancel the rest of the season.
If we met we would have to sit two metres apart (unless they are a couple) which would mean we could only have about five rows which would limit us to about 20 t0 25 members. We would have.turn away those who arrive after our maximum number is reached. The government keeps changing local lockdown areas and making people self isolate so we would have to cancel at short notice. We would need to complete our own risk assessment to have approved by the Elders prior to being allowed to use the hall, and of course there is the fee for the and the need to sanitise chairs, stairs, banister and door handles to name a few more following our departure.
The committee wish you keep well and safe and trust that October 2021 will be a starting point for us to be together as a society.
