I would like to share with you all what I have been doing during lockdowns to keep myself busy!!!
I have been knitting items for the Neonatal Unit at East Surrey Hospital who are always in need of very small hats, cardigans etc and blankets that fit incubators. This is part of the thank you letter that I have received:-
“Please note that, unfortunately, we are no longer able to use any type of knitted bonding squares (material ones are fine). This is due to the possible inhalation of, fibres.
We also cannot accept any Hats, Mittens, Bootees and Blankets with Ribbon/Ties or holes in them (little fingers and toes can get stuck in them), however, we would really appreciate it if you are able knit us blankets measuring 20inch/50cm square, material blankets (18inches x 14inches) or cardigans with long sleeves please.
Once again ,we are very grateful for all the lovely donations
Thank you so much”
This may be of interest to anyone who feels inspired
