Like me, I am sure you are well and truly fed up with these lockdowns but for the time being, in order to stay safe and well, it is necessary. But it means we don’t see one another and we are often lonely and isolated. We have a system in the church to keep in touch with everyone through our elders so if you feel you want to speak to someone, please pick up the phone and give them a ring. And I would certainly appreciate a friendly call too. My home number is 01342 604325. As the old BT advert used to say: “It’s good to talk.”
I spoke with Beattie recently who, with Godfrey, was celebrating a wedding anniversary. Many congratulations to them both. I also heard from Margaret Hick’s son, Brian, who lives in East Sussex; he worked in the Gramophone Library at the BBC just before I started there and he reminded me of quite a few staff members who I was also friendly with. That was a lovely treat!
On the 9th December at 10.30, I am holding a Zoom coffee morning, a chance to meet up and have a chat with friends. Please join me if you can!
On Monday mornings, at 9am, I have started a prayer group. At the moment with all the restrictions, it is only on Zoom, but once, and if, things get back to normal I hope to have some time in the church building, for prayer and perhaps a little Bible study. Please let me know if you’d like us to pray for you – or indeed anyone you know. It can be a great comfort to know people are thinking of you.
Please stay safe and if you fancy a chat, give me a ring!
With much Christian love to you all,
