Macmillan Coffee Morning

 1 October 2021 |

On Saturday morning after not being able to hold this event for the past two years it was lovely to do so this year.

Having taken the chance on holding this event in my Mother’s garden whilst keeping a close eye on the ever changing weather reports and keeping my fingers crossed that it wouldn’t rain.

We were truly lucky with the weather, the sun shone and it was a wonderful sight to see everyone there especially Anne MacLean her son Andrew with her carer and Margaret Hicks with many church members, family and friends.

It was lovely to listen to the laughter and chatting as everyone was catching up with friends who hadn’t been able to get out during lockdown and relaxing in the sunshine, such a tonic before the autumn sets in. I’m sure there was many loosening of belts etc as the cakes and biscuits were being devoured with copious mugs of teas and coffee.

On a serious note the main reason we were there was to give our support to all the wonderful Macmillan Nurses whose work is invaluable to all the families who they help at a very daunting time, the total that we raised is an amazing £325.00.

Thank you all once again I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did.
